MailDex by Encryptomatic LLC is a powerful Microsoft Windows software application for managing small or amounts of email content.

Use MailDex to index, search, view, and export email content, including Microsoft Outlook MSG, EML, PST, OST, and MBOX files. MailDex does not require MAPI to be installed on the computer to work with Outlook email files.

We've also added support for OLM and EMLX files from MacOS mail and MS Outlook for Mac. (2022)

You can also view message headers, bodies, attachments and perform various actions, including exporting them to different file formats such as PDF.  MailDex can bulk print and export email content.

To begin using MailDex, create a "Project" and then add email content to the project.

You can remove or add additional content from the project.

You can have multiple projects, and you can delete an existing project.  Deleting a project does NOT remove the email files from your computer; only the MailDex index is removed.

Supported message formats

MSG - Microsoft Outlook message file; compatible with other programs that use Microsoft's Messaging Applications Programming Interface (MAPI).

EML - E-mail message saved by Mozilla Thunderbird, Lotus, and other e-mail programs; may also contain e-mail attachments or files sent with the message.

PST - Personal Storage Table, the file format used to store local copies of messages, calendar events, and other items within Microsoft Outlook.

OST - Off-line Storage Table that stores e-mail messages and other data saved by the application from an Exchange server.

MBOX - Open format mailbox archive used by Mozilla Thunderbird and other email programs. It may contain file attachments.
